傑佛瑞．薩克斯 (Jeffery Sachs) 教授在他2005年的書《貧窮的終結》裡大聲疾呼貧窮在我們這代結束的可能，縱然我們深知結果可能仍如羅斯福總統在近70年前的期待般落空，我們依舊深受感動及充滿希望。
